Indignation and protest rally following damage to the Teghime casemate

The Grand Site de France expresses its deep indignation and immense sadness at the wilful damage recently caused to the Teghime casemate, a historic monument charged with remembrance and respect, paying tribute to fallen heroes and soldiers.

These acts of vandalism are a serious attack on our heritage, our collective history and the values that this place symbolises. They are unacceptable.

The Syndicat Mixte du Grand Site joins the elected representatives and the general public in strongly condemning these acts. It wishes to state with the utmost determination that these acts will not go unpunished.

A complaint has been lodged to ensure that full light is shed on these acts of violence and that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Respecting our places of remembrance means honouring those who gave their lives. We call on everyone to be responsible and vigilant in preserving this heritage and these shared values.

The Grand Site de France invites elected representatives and the general public to to meet on Wednesday 1 April 2026 at 5.30 p.m. at the Teghime pass to express its strong protest and unanimous condemnation of this despicable act against freedom fighters in general and the valiant Resistance fighter Ernest BONACOSCIA in particular.
