Why this Commission?
The villages of the Grand Site de France are part of a landscape of great coherence, the result of an ancient balance between architecture, relief and vineyards.
Each project contributes to this overall composition, which is why their integration into the landscape and architecture is essential. The Grand Site, together with its partners, local elected officials and residents, works to preserve the spirit of the place. Each new project contributes to this continuity: the Commission is there to support you in this shared endeavour.
Working together for the region
What is the Commission?
The Support and Consultation Committee brings together several stakeholders involved in regional planning:
- The investigating departments of the Departmental Directorate for Territories (DDT)
- The mayors of the municipalities of the Grand Site de France
- The services of the Architecte des Bâtiments de France (ABF) at the UDAP
- The site inspector from the Regional Directorate for Environment, Planning and Housing (DREAL)
- The Corsican Environment Office (OEC)
- The Corsican Agency for Sustainable Development, Urban Planning and Energy (AUE)
- The Council for Architecture, Town Planning and the Environment (CAUE) of Corsica
Together, these partners provide a collective opinion on each project, ideally before the building permit application is submitted. This means that when the official application is submitted, the project owner already has a file that meets the expectations of the various reviewing departments.
An active Commission serving the region
Operation
The Commission meets every third Thursday of the month. It also conducts site visits when necessary in order to better understand how projects fit into their environment, their potential impact on the landscape, and their consistency with the values of the Grand Site de France.
A reference document

The opinions issued by the Commission are based on a reference document: the Landscape, Architectural and Environmental Charter of the Grand Site de France. This Charter translates the landscape and architectural values that make the Grand Site unique into concrete recommendations.
AThus, the Charter's recommendations guide stipulates:
- construction principles (volumetry, roofing, façade composition, etc.);
- a range of materials (roofing, façades, joinery, railings, fences, etc.);
- a colour chart for plaster, shutters and joinery;
- a plant palette suited to local species.
These tools ensure architectural and landscape consistency that respects the identity of the Grand Site.
