A PROTECTED AREA
AND MANAGED SUSTAINABLY
At the heart of the territory, the unique ensemble formed by the Conca d'Oru and Patrimonio vineyards was classified as a protected site on 1 August 2014. It covers an area of 4,501 hectares, including 190 hectares of sea. The classification was motivated by the picturesque nature of the site, where the landscape is picturesque, by the uniqueness of its relief along the coastline, its diversity of colour, and its panoramic views connecting the land to the sea.
The Grand Site de France is organised around several protected areas: a listed site, registered sites, Natura 2000 sites and a maritime area that is part of the Cap Corse and Agriate Marine Nature Park. These measures are accompanied by a management plan and a landscape, architectural and environmental charter for the Grand Site, guaranteeing the sustainable preservation of natural environments, built heritage and landscapes. The technical recommendations set out in the charter cover the location of buildings, including slope, volume, shape, façade composition, roofs, joinery, materials, colours, links with public spaces and other details.
