Enhance
Affirming the terrestrial and maritime identity of the Grand Site de France, a lever for sustainable wine-growing and tourism development
COMMITMENT 1
LAND/SEA TOURISM
Promoting tourism development based on the complementary land and sea assets of the Grand Site de France
The Grand Site area has tourist attractions that favour a still very seasonal visitor pattern, based on the appeal of the coastline and the Gulf of Saint-Florent. The aim is to promote the Grand Site's inland attractions, such as vineyards, farm buildings, remarkable panoramas, and natural and cultural heritage, to complement the seaside attractions. This approach aims to extend the tourist season, spread visitor numbers across space and time, and ensure a sustainable economic model for the area.
Actions taken
The management plan provides for the creation of a scenic tourist route, improvements to the visitor centre at the Grand Site and the integration of the Grand Site into the tourist offices, as well as the publication of a guide entitled «Walks in the Grand Site». A study promoting the development of wine tourism as part of a tourism strategy for the Grand Site is also being carried out.
COMMITMENT 2
HIGH-QUALITY WINE TOURISM
Promote and support high-quality, professional wine tourism offerings
The Grand Site's rich wine heritage is a major driver for experiential, sensory and sustainable tourism. It is essential to bring together stakeholders around a professional and authentic offering that is consistent with the values of the Grand Site. In partnership with the Patrimonio AOP winegrowers' union, initiatives are being implemented to raise awareness and train wineries in the specific characteristics of the region.
Actions taken
The Grand Site plans to apply for the Vignobles & Découvertes label in order to professionalise its offering and achieve its objectives. This will enable it to network and bring together the various players in wine tourism around a qualified offering, while also professionalising those involved. The Grand Site is also committed to supporting winegrowers in their wine tourism initiatives and in the development of their cellars and reception and tasting areas.
COMMITMENT 3
MULTIPLE HERITAGE ASSETS
Promoting heritage, cultural and sporting activities in the life and discovery of the Grand Site de France
The aim is to share the rich heritage of the Grand Site by promoting its built heritage (religious, military, village). The Grand Site also wants to support cultural and sporting events through eco-responsible partnerships to strengthen the links between residents, visitors and the region.
Actions taken
A plan to interpret the built heritage is currently being developed and should lead to the installation of interpretive signage in the field. Partnerships related to sporting and cultural events are also being developed (Wine Run, Guitar Nights, etc.).
COMMITMENT 4
SUSTAINABLE MARITIME AMBITION
Promoting the maritime ambition of the Grand Site de France
The Grand Site aims to preserve the water quality of the Gulf of Saint-Florent, develop marine biodiversity and reconcile nautical activities with the preservation of marine environments. The commitment of the port of Saint-Florent to exemplary environmental initiatives is central to this dynamic.
Actions taken
- Maintaining the environmental quality of the Gulf's waters
- Rollout of pilot initiatives at the port: Ports Propres certification, Blue Flag label, Biohut nurseries, clean careening area, awareness-raising through the «I sail, I sort» campaign.»
- Partnership with the Cap Corse and Agriate Marine Park for awareness-raising, research and promotion of marine ecosystems
COMMITMENT 5
LOCAL ECONOMIC IMPACT
Promoting local economic benefits from visits to the Grand Site de France
The Grand Site aims to strengthen the link between landscape, economy and quality of life by giving its values an economic dimension. The challenge is to structure a coherent offering between the region, local production and sustainable tourism, while promoting innovation and networking among economic stakeholders.
Actions taken
- Supporting economic stakeholders to create an identified Grand Site offering
- Training and raising awareness among artisans and retailers about promoting local products
- Development of digital tools, including an interactive «Grand Site» application with geolocation and explanatory content
