As part of the 2026 Science Festival, dedicated to «Saveurs Savantes», the Conca d’Oru Grand Site de France, the Patrimonio vineyard – Gulf of Saint-Florent, was delighted to welcome you on Wednesday 7 October at the Maison du Grand Site for a day dedicated to discovery and sharing, centred on the fascinating world of bees and honey.
✨ Around thirty participants turned out for this lovely day, which was filled with fruitful discussions, scientific discoveries and moments of sharing centred on biodiversity and the flavours of our maquis.
A big thank you to everyone who came along to take part in this event, as well as to Mr Pierre Carli, a beekeeper, for his fascinating and engaging scientific and sensory workshop, and to Mr Cornuel-Willermoz, from the Corsican Insect Conservation Observatory (OCIC), for the insight provided by his talk on biodiversity and the island’s pollinators. 🌿
🌼 The Science Festival continued on 8 and 9 October, aimed at young people!
On this occasion, we were also able to welcome three primary school classes from Oletta, Patrimonio and Saint-Florent to the Maison du Grand Site for a series of new days dedicated to discovery and raising environmental awareness.
The pupils took part in a session organised by the CPIE A Rinascita, focusing on the world of bees.
Through age-appropriate explanations, discoveries and discussions, they learnt about the vital role these insects play in our environment and gained a better understanding of their importance for biodiversity and pollination.
Educational leaflets and booklets were also handed out to them to build on what they had learnt, consolidate their knowledge and help them gain a better understanding of the issues surrounding bee conservation.
A big thank you to CPIE A Rinascita for its educational programme and its commitment to the younger generations, as well as to all the speakers, participants and teaching staff for their contribution to the success of these events!
🌿 These events fully illustrate the importance of passing on scientific knowledge and raising awareness of biodiversity from a very young age.
Thank you to everyone for your curiosity, your enthusiasm and the quality of these discussions!
See you soon for more activities and discoveries at the heart of the Conca d’Oru Grand Site de France! 🍯🌱
