Discovering the Grand Site de France Conca d'Oru for IRA students.

This Friday, 3 March 2023, during the induction week for the 46the As part of an IRA promotional event, nearly 90 students had the opportunity to discover the Grand Site de France Conca d'Oru, a vineyard in Patrimonio – Gulf of Saint-Florent, by following an educational and informative trail organised by the Syndicat Mixte.

The first stage of the day was a general presentation of the Grand Site at the IRA premises.

After this brief speech, we headed to the Grand Site and Patrimonio for a guided tour of the village with Mayor José Poggioli and his deputy, Gerard Bernard.

On the programme: discovery of Nativu, the open-air theatre, San Martinu Church, Calvelli Chapel and House, and the heritage trail.

After a convivial lunch at the Maison des Vins, we headed to Farinole to meet Mr. Mathieu Marfisi.

Thanks to a superb presentation of the Patrimonio PDO and its characteristics, the winegrower perfectly succeeded in arousing the curiosity of the students, who were captivated both by the talk and by the wonderful landscapes of the vineyard overlooking the sea.

The penultimate stage of our journey took us to Saint Florent, where we visited the port and learned about its environmental and economic challenges, and toured the old town with a bird's eye view of the Gulf of Saint Florent from the Citadel esplanade.

Finally, to round off the day in style, we treated the future winners to a magnificent sunset from the heights of the future Barbaggio viewpoint, where we hope that the sight of this iconic landscape will remain etched in their memories.
