Grand Site Biodiversity Hike: Discovering terrestrial biodiversity on the Farinole iron mine trail

This Saturday, around ten participants took part in a superb hike organised by the Grand Site de France Conca d’Oru – Patrimonio Vineyard – Gulf of Saint-Florent, in partnership with the Nebbiu Mountain Office.

The route followed the Farinole iron mine trail, between sea and scrubland, offering a unique immersion in the site's landscapes as well as in the richness of its local biodiversity. Throughout the journey, discussions with participants provided a better understanding of the species, natural environments and conservation issues affecting this remarkable area.

This release is part of the actions leading up to the’Atlas of Municipal Biodiversity (ABC) of the Grand Site, an ambitious project covering the entire territory of the six municipalities of the Grand Site, and funded by the’French Biodiversity Agency (OFB). The ABC will enable us to better understand, share and protect the biodiversity of our region. Thank you to the participants for their curiosity and commitment, and thank you to the Nebbiu Mountain Office for its enthusiastic support!
