On Wednesday 18 June, we had the pleasure of exploring the trails of the famous Patrimonio vineyard during an enriching and convivial hike. Around ten participants took part in this wonderful outing combining nature, heritage and Corsican wine-growing traditions.
Throughout the journey, we discovered many elements of the traditional agricultural heritage : Casette, clowns and dry stone walls, evidence of ancestral know-how and a way of life closely linked to the land.
We also dived into the history of the Patrimonio vineyard, renowned for the quality of its wines and its protected designation of origin (PDO). Particular attention has been paid to the different iconic grape varieties of the region: Niellucciu, Vermentinu…, each playing an essential role in the richness and diversity of the wines produced here.
During the walk, we discussed the local commitment to preserving the wine-growing landscape, a true cultural and environmental heritage site. Within this patchwork of vegetation sculpted by vineyards, this discovery hike was an immersion into the wine-growing soul of the Grand Site. Thank you to all the participants for their good humour and curiosity!
